Transition House is a 6 bedroom, 24 bed shelter that assists single men and women, couples and families. We have supportive staff on site 24 hours a day 7 days a week to assist those living within the shelter or for individuals who require our services.
Our Programs
Our Shelter provides a variety of services to our residents including:
- Safe and secure temporary accommodations for up to 90 days
- 24 hour support for residents
- Goal setting and action planning
- Assistance finding permanent housing
- Financial management assistance
- Weekly house meetings
- Employment assistance
- Referring residents to agencies within the community
- Facilitating and advocating on behalf of residents with agencies such as Social Services
- Supportive individual counseling
- Continuous outreach services if required after departure
- Workshops to ensure residents are equipped with knowledge about services within the community
- Provide “Milk for Mom’s” coupons for parents with young children
- Provide vouchers from “Beyond the Blue Box” or “Horizons of Friendship” to purchase items such as clothing or household items
